Constructed in 1571 A.D., Jama Masjid is one of the biggest mosque in India. The masjid was erected in commemoration of Sheikh Salim Chisthi and his grandson Islam Khan by Jahanara Begum, Shahjahan's daughter, who was imprisoned with Shah Jahan by Aurangzeb.
The mosque has an stylish architecture and have the Tomb of Royal girls and Jammat Khana hall within the Courtyard.The masjid endorses gorgeous decorated paintings inlaid stones, carvings and glazed tiles The tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti is really worth seeing. At first it had been developed in red stone and was later changed in marble by Jahangir. It's lattice screens are essentially the most intricate and stunning in the world. It has tomb of Islam Khan, and Sufi shrine or 'dargah'.
